They are best friends, and their friendship, symbolically intended to reflect Parker and Stone's friendship, is a common topic throughout the series. Much like The Simpsons, South Park uses a very large ensemble cast of recurring characters and became infamous for its profanity and dark, surreal humor that satirizes a wide range of topics towards a mature audience. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. In the 14 years we've been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn't stand behind. Today Stone and Parker released a statement. I was left wondering whether the complete change in the censorship was a joke in itself. Unlike the 200 th episode, the 201 st featured tons of bleeps especially whenever they said Muhammad. When I sat down to watch the episode, I was shocked at the level of censorship. The episode was a continuation of the storyline from the 200 th episode which was about Muhammad and how people don't make fun of him because of religious fanatics.
